Have you come to check out the silent auction booty?

We have sent out a kazillion letters, emails and made lots of phone calls pleading our case and promoting our cause.

ALL money from the silent auction will be going to the Alberta Cancer Foundation. It's a slightly indirect way - it goes from you the supporters to us the runners to the Underwear Affair organization and then to the ACF. A round about way but rest assured it will get there!

We've been getting responses back for donations and as we do we'll keep you updated. Keep checking back!

Tickets for the event are on sale now! Contact either myself or Janine by phone or email the team at tartsandtallywackers@yahoo.ca. Tickets are only $10 each and it includes a fabulous dance which is DJ'ed by Good Times. Kevin was a phenomenal DJ last year so we've got him booked again. Your ticket also includes food. This is a BEACH BASH so we'll be serving hotdogs and a lot of snack food. Drinks are $2 each so enjoy yourself BUT be responsible and have a DD.

Now, are you wondering why is everything so cheap? Well the answer is obvious: SO YOU CAN SPEND MORE AT THE SILENT AUCTION!

There are lots of wonderful prize donations including 2 sets of 2 tickets to the Calgary Flames vs. Dallas Stars game on March 18, 2009. These seats are amazing. Section 120 Row 13 Seats 9 & 10 and Seats 11 & 12. They are in the Club section and on the Centre Line.

Now we're playing the waiting game to see how well our request was received. We already have 11 items and about 10 or so guaranteed donations. Last year we had just over 50 items to bid on and we're hoping for a few more than that this year. Time will tell.

Where does the money we're raising go?

I'll say this LOUD and PROUD : the money we're raising is from Albertans and will be used on Albertans throughout our province!



"Proceeds from the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Underwear Affair support Alberta Cancer Board research and patient programs at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton, the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary and 16 other cancer centres throughout the province.
These cancers account for 35% of all newly diagnosed cancers in Alberta each year. The Alberta Cancer Board is a model for cancer care and control around the world and is leading the way in uncovering cures and putting prostate, colorectal, ovarian, cervical and other cancers below the waist, behind us." taken from the Alberta Cancer Foundation website.

So, what did you think? Aren't they alarming? Well we thought so too, so Tarts and Tallywackers are joining forces with Underwear Affair to help raise funds to find a cure for these diseases.

We've already started the planning of our fundraiser - are you ready for this one? It's going to be a BEACH PARTY!

The hall is booked, the decorations are already bought - all that's left is music, food, invites and YOU!
